Manchester City have agreed a deal for UK private equity real estate investor Henley to sponsor their London-based City in the City event series.

Launched in 2014, the City in the City concept is aimed at engaging the club’s network of fans outside of Greater Manchester, particularly those based in London and the South East.

Over the past 12 months, the club has held six City in the City events around the capital, including functions from their commercial offices in the new 10 Brock Street building in Euston.

The events held before City’s London away games provide fans with a behind-the-scenes insight into how the club is run as told by those responsible for delivering success on and off the pitch.

Previous guest speakers have included football services managing director Brian Marwood and Tom Glick, former chief commercial officer and now president of New York City FC. The inaugural non-matchday event included a Q&A session with Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini and captain Vincent Kompany.

Having first sponsored the City in the City events before the Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur games last season, the new sponsorship will provide Henley with unique branding opportunities across a minimum of five future events in 2015/16. The package will also ensure a year-round window to engage with the club’s corporate fan-base.

The first in the series has been pencilled in for before the Sky Blues’ clash against Tottenham Hotspur on 26 September 2015 and will highlight the history that Manchester City has in the community space. Speakers will talk guests through some of the key initiatives that Manchester City have delivered since 1880.

With a 1245pm kickoff, guests will be given a breakfast before learning more about the club’s history working with the community, both locally and globally, followed by private coach transport to White Hart Lane.
